10:56 - Wow....gotta say, I'm a little surprised that they had Team WWE win. I'm not going to be one of those drama queens who goes on and on about how Nexus is dead in the water now (ya' know, like they were the second week of their existence), but it just seems like there's more story to tell with Nexus winning than Nexus losing. Figured they'd save the big WWE victory for Survivor Series.
10:44 - The design on Justin Gabriel's kickpads look like a Pac-Man board.
10:42 - Daniel Bryan, show 'em what you got kid.
10:37 - Then again, they did just debut a new "Never Give Up" shirt. That's not very heelish.
10:35 - Do you think when NXT began, Heath Slater said to Christian, "I'm going to main event this year's SummerSlam. You'll be left off the card completely"?
Also, the fact that Cena hasn't even been in the ring yet leads me to think the heel turn is a possibility.
10:34 - All this Alliance name dropping is humorous. Odd that they haven't done a face-in-peril yet.
10:31 - How kind of Heath Slater to gently hold Hart in place while he beats him on the turnbuckle.
10:28 - For what it's worth, I expected Truth, Bryan, or Hart to get eliminated first.
10:27 - It's not one I dislike, but it's an interesting notion having Nexus drop numerous members before Team WWE. On the contrary, I think it's quite clever of them to offer us the exact opposite of what we expected.
10:22 - We all knew that Darren Young was getting eliminated first, right?
10:19 - YAY!!! They did what everyone said they should do. Although Cena should have said, "You might remember him...."
10:17 - Really? You're going to have Miz come out AFTER Bret Hart?????
10:14 - Holy bejeezus! the ONE guy I didn't expect to be wearing something new, John Cena, is shorting an all new color scheme. 'Bout bloody time!
10:02 - I'm not particularly shocked they took the angle in this direction, with Kane as the attacker. But considering we've seen this feud SO MANY TIMES before, I just wish they had taken another route with it. Why not have Kane legitimately unaware of the fact that he had committed the act? Do a dual personality type thing, in a non-cartoonish fashion. This could give them a reason to bring back Masked Kane as well. Unmasked Kane legitimately cares for his brother, while Masked Kane is trying to kill him (under normal circumstances, I would book it the opposite way, but given the way the storyline kicked off, this would be the only option). That's a lot more interesting than the tired old Undertaker vs. Kane feud.
9:51 - Good to see Rey sporting some snazzy ORANGE attire!
9:39 - The irony of course is that Mysterio DID injure the Undertaker and Mysterio DID benefit from his absence.
9:32 - Wow...after the camera stuck on Sheamus for so long, I'm shocked they didn't have Miz come down. And, again, it doesn't much sense from a storyline point of view for him to NOT come out.
9:30 - Another reason why Miz should cash in: The crowd deserves it after TWO cheap endings to title matches tonight.
9:28 - Who thinks the table was supposed to break?
9:27 - I actually feel like we could see a Miz cash-in right now.... After all this talk of cashing it in at SummerSlam, if he doesn't after Randy does a huge attack, then he looks like a fool.
9:19 - I understand Orton bringing up the "you never beat me" point for psychological purposes, but why do the announcers keep harping on it? Haven't these two only fought once, and didn't the match end in a DQ? They've mentioned it, like, 10 times already.
9:11 - It just occurred to me that the first two matches of tonight's card featured Superstars from the opposing brand attacking both match participants.
9:06 - Side note, but I love the in ring introductions that they ONLY do for World title matches.
9:03 - that Sheamus-ized poster of Beeker from the Muppets is quite possibly the most awesome thing ever. And bravo, Sheamus, for the new green outfit.
9:00 - Eh, I'm actually a bit disappointed that Miz is joining Team WWE. I know he's the hot new thing, but it's all sorta predictable. And really, it would suit his character so much more to reject the offer, after keeping them waiting and forcing them each to beg, just to leave them on a lurch. And are we forgetting that he completely retreated from the Nexus on NXT during that battle royal?
Whatever the case may be, Jericho and Edge better outlast him in the Elimination Match. And don't think I didn't notice the lack of new trucks on the Miz either! Did the seamstress die?
8:44 - Another reason why the lack of new uniform on Punk bothers me: You've got Punk in orange, Gallows in red, and Mercury in black and white camo. There's no continuity. No sense of union.
8:39 - It looks like CM Punk does have some new tattoos on his chest though. Or is that tape goo?
8:36 - Let me just say this: the S.E.S. BETTER win this. By the way, Gallows and Mercury need to be wearing "CM Punk is My Favorite Wrestler" t-shirts. Nice homage to Eddie Guerrero. And Punk in some old trunks as well...
8:32 - I still don't quite see how one easily broken real belt is more prestigious than an intact real belt and intact fake belt.
8:25 - For those of you looking for the male version of Melina's entrance attire:
8:23 - Honestly, is she wearing a headband or something? Her hairline is distracting.
8:21 - Oh, and is Alicia Fox bald?
8:20 - I didn't get a good look, but it appears that Edge isn't sporting new tights for tonight. Pet peeve. It's SummerSlam -- the second biggest event of the year -- debut a new color scheme, man!
8:15 - The Nexus interference is surprising (I didn't mind it), but I'm particularly shocked that they did it when Dolph had Kofi in his finishing maneuver. For the fans' perspective, why not interfere when the babyface is in control?
8:07 - Upon seeing the ring apron design, yellow ropes actually would have worked really well. They also would have served as a nice homage to the Nexus' rise to power.
8:04 - I'll be honest, based on the PPV poster (speak of the devil), I thought we'd see the orange ring ropes from WrestleMania a few years ago would be dusted off for tonight. Oh, and has the Intercontinental title opened SummerSlam for the past couple years now? I predict Dolph retains.
Speaking of SummerSlam, do YOU think the poster looks like a Hannah Montana poster? I sure don't, but Mr. Eric Bischoff seems to. Yeah, he posted that on Twitter. Just, like, a day after posting a rather harsh and nasty posting on his Facebook page (ya' know, the #1 social networking site on the Internet) lambasting those who use social networking sites to express their opinions, referring to them as "miscreants" and "losers." So apparently if you badmouth TNA -- one of the most flawed and struggling promotions out there, which I think even their fans would admit -- you're a miscreant loser. But if you take a shot at WWE, you're what, witty and clever? Yeah, that's a fair and balanced point of view.
