Well, it's official: For the first time in our nation's history, an African American will serve as President.
Whether you voted for him or not, you can't deny that this is a very exciting moment, one that will most certainly be deemed as "defining." And while it is often brought up that we've never had a black man as President, if you really think about it, it's pretty depressing how -- out of 43 previous presidents -- we really haven't drifted at all from the white Christian male prototype. If I'm not mistaken, there's only been one Catholic president. This really makes you comprehend how monumental this election has been.
You also have to be impressed by the fact that he toppled the ultra powerful Clinton family in the primaries, and dominated the otherwise very popular McCain in the actual election. No small feat.
I offer my sincere congratulation to our next President. There is much to be said about him and the entire election process -- which I will discuss in the upcoming days -- but I do plead one thing:
Please, please, PLEASE, for the love of God: Can we STFU about the whole "Change" thing, already? I mean, honestly.....enough already.
